Computer Vision for Low Cost 3-D Golf Ball and Club Tracking

A low cost set of stereo web cameras can lead to many realtime stereovion applications in the real word thanks to efficient synchronisation functions. Here, fast, reliable and robust tracking of a golf ball and the golf putter is sought for applications such as VR golf. The novelty of the portable system developed here relies on the adjunction of simple yet reliable segmentation, tracking and triangulation algorithms on a relatively well controlled environment.
